What

Many of the processes involved in our modern lives involve the need to cool fluids, from power generation, to process lines to HVAC.  If you need to cool these fluids, conventional thinking requires either utilizing a very large natural draft cooling tower that consumes a large footprint and costs a lot to build and maintain, or utilizing a fan to provide airflow, as we would see in a forced draft cooling tower, induced draft cooling tower, fluid cooler or condenser.  Fans cost money to run.

Why?

Heat is energy.  Conventional cooling towers, fluid coolers, and condensers use electrical power to dissipate heat out of the process and in to the ambient air.  Why pay to remove heat that you paid to create?  Why indeed?
